Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin was born on Christmas Day 1871 into a Russian noble family. He later studied at the Moscow Conservatory under Anton Arensky, Sergei Taneyev and Vasily Salonov. He was an innovator and one of the most controversial composer-pianists of the 20th century, developing a much more dissonant musical language which accorded with his personal brand of metaphysics – in aesthetics, synesthesia (relating colours with harmonic tones) and mystical symbolism. Scriabin is best known for his sensitive, exquisitely polished piano music. He also wrote some orchestral music. Here are four albums: Scriabin. Yevgeny Sudbin. Release Date: 1 Oct 2007. Label: BIS.
