Suman's Story Former Hindus, Suman and her brother both converted to Christianity after they attended church and experienced God's healing power. Not long after, their angry Hindu relatives murdered their beloved Christian sister, Bindu, in retaliation. The siblings are now displaced from their home and village due to continued threats. A Prayer for Suman God, we grieve with the vast number of Indian Christians who have been displaced from their homes because of religious violence. Grant Suman and her brother peace and comfort amid the loss of their martyred sister. As they seek safe shelter in a new area, please provide them with a supportive church community, and meet all their daily needs. Preamble
Although our own circumstances may be uneventful, the daily news never fail to remind us that we live in a troubled world; at times fraught with unimaginable pain and suffering. Scripture encourages us to pray always in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication especially for all believers everywhere (Eph 6:18). The Greek word 'agrupneo' is the origin of the phrase "being watchful" and it means to stay awake or be sleepless. It emphasises the need for spiritual vigilance and alertness. Let us be faithful in praying. Only the preceding twelve month's posts will be listed. |
