The President of the United States, in coordination with the Secretary of State, should immediately re-designate Nigeria a "Country of Particular Concern" for failing to prevent systematic, ongoing, egregious violations of religious freedom.
 
In concert with this designation, the United States should apply targeted sanctions on Nigerian officials responsible for allowing the mass killing of Christians.
 
This designation was last made in the year 2020 by the first Trump administration and subsequently removed in 2021 by the Biden administration.
 
Call to Action
Concerned Christians should call the Senate Foreign Relations Committee at +1-202-224-4651, tag them on the social media platform, X, and ask why the State Department has refused to designate Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern. 
 
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee is responsible for the oversight of the U.S. State Department, which has failed to designate Nigeria despite the mass killing of Christians.
